H. Richard Black Obituary

BLACK, Richard O. "Dick" 84, of Springfield, passed away in his home on February 3, 2017. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 21, 1932, the son of the late Floyd and Norma (Purdy) Black. Dick served his country in the U.S. Army. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. Dick was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Margaret Lemen Black on December 19, 2016 and two sisters, Joanne Black Graves and Marilyn Black Drake. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Brad Smith of Buffalo, New York; three granddaughters, Emilie, Kendra and Becca Smith; sisters-in-law, Nancy Lemen Zimmerman and Susie Lemen Brougher; and several nieces and nephews. A private service will be held in the Spring at the family's convenience.
