About

Mission

The mission of the Dayton Society of Artists is to connect, support, and educate artists and the community.

85 Years and Counting!
A collaborate alliance of artists since 1938, the Dayton Society of Artists celebrated its 85th Anniversary in 2023.

Art & Education
The exhibition calendar includes seven exhibitions a year that are free and open to the public with opening receptions on the first Friday of the month. The DSA aims to provide art engagement opportunities to the public and support working artists through educational opportunities.

Grant Received!
The DSA and Spire Arts received a 2018 joint Ohio Arts grant to expose Spire Arts clients to new materials, create a community project, and exhibit the artist's work at the DSA during June 2019 .

In 2022, the DSA received funding from the Ohio Arts Council for Strategic Planning and funding from OAC, MCACD, and Culture Works for Workshops

Thank you!

Volunteers and Internships

The Dayton Society of Artists is always looking for volunteers and interns. Help us fulfill our mission by volunteering a lot or a little!

Exhibitions
Help hang art and sit at the gallery during our open hours (12-5 Friday & Saturday).

Gallery Maintenance

Paint, clean, or repair our beautiful historic building built in the 1860's.

Grants
Research and write grants. Many opportunities are available for DSA to obtain grant money--we just need help getting them.

Grounds
Help us with our year-round needs of gardening, lawn care, and snow removal.

Marketing

Reach out to let the local community know what we're up to by posting on social media, mailing materials, promoting artists calls, and showing up at events.

Permanent Collection
Organize, catalog, preserve, or update our permanent collection.

Programming and Events
Coordinate our programs and events that we host for our members, artists, and the community.

Special Events
Join one of the teams that organize our fundraisers, neighborhood events, or art fairs.
