  PERSON PLACE THING is the Dayton Society of Artists’ 2024 annual spring juried exhibition. The call for art was open to all mediums, techniques, and styles. The juror was Stefan Chinov, Wright State University Professor and International Artist.

  Julie Riley: Becoming a Self-Sustained Artist

  When: Sun. May 5th - 1 PM
  Where: Dayton Society of Artists

  Join the DSA for a workshop by Julie Riley about how she became a self-sustained artist. She switched careers from the software industry and began to pursue painting full-time in early 2018 and was completely sustained by her art sales by 2019. Hear how she broke into the art market, how she organizes her time, and other tips and tricks to becoming a successful artist in the Dayton market.

  Julie Riley:

  Julie Riley is a full-time contemporary artist whose art studio is based in beautiful downtown Dayton, Ohio. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and her pieces are included in private and public collections nationally and internationally. She has won several awards and has been represented by art galleries throughout the Midwest.

  Julie holds the position of Vice President on the Executive Board of the Dayton Society of Artists. Additionally, she serves as a Member at Large on the Board of Dayton Artists United and is a Member at Large on the Board of Friends of the Dayton Living Arts Center. She is also an Appointed Observer of Dayton’s Visual Arts.

  Please join the Dayton Society of Artists in a free members' social! We’re hosting a party at our gallery, opening our doors to our members and guests for what we’re calling Bubbles and Boards. We’ll have all kinds of bubbles, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and a charcuterie spread for some afternoon grazing.
  
  Bubbles & Boards coincides with our annual member’s meeting. The Board and Director will take a moment around 2 PM to give a brief review of the organization, and members can vote on new items and board members. More than anything else though, this is our chance to get together again and enjoy the amazing community of artists that makes up DSA. 

  If you have artwork to pick up from Person Place Thing, feel free to pick it up during the event, just make sure to check in with Jo before leaving. Any questions, please email: info@daytondsa.org 
  
  Members are allowed to bring a plus one to the event; RSVP is greatly appreciated.
